I-Share is a consortium of academic libraries in Illinois that have agreed to share resources for free.

  • I-Share is the primary borrowing source for books when Wheaton's library does not own the title or it's checked out.
  • You must SIGN IN with your Net ID to see the I-Share borrowing option for an item in the library catalog.
  • If Wheaton's copy is checked out AND you're signed in, you should see I-Share as one of the request options under "Get It."
  • Most requests will arrive within 3-5 business days.
  • It is possible visit any of the participating libraries and check materials out yourself. College of Dupage is the closest I-Share library.
  • Call 630-752-5354 if you are having problems signing in or accessing your library account.

The top search from the library website (library.wheaton.edu) defaults to what Wheaton owns in print or online. "All I-Share Libraries" is an option in the pop-down menu to the right of the search box (see image below).  Here is a list of all participating libraries.
