Buswell Library’s interlibrary loan service is a research support service. Most items that are needed to support your research can be requested.
Important thing to note about interlibrary loan requests:
- I-Share is the fastest way to request books for class. Items typically arrive in 3-5 business days.
- ILLiad items typically arrive 5-10 business days but during busy times in the academic year they may take a little longer, so plan ahead!
- You will not be able to keep an item for an entire semester. I-Share allows for a 28 day loan period with 3 renewals and ILLiad is usually 3-4 week loan period with 1 renewal, which will not carry through until the end of the semester.
- Consider ordering an older edition. They are more likely to be available.
Note to Faculty:
We cannot request textbooks or other physical items to be put on course reserve through interlibrary loan because loan periods given are not long enough for semester use.
